Discus fish in a planted aquarium

Our Story

About Kiss My Discus

We're not a pet store. We're discus obsessives who turned a basement fish room into a full-blown passion project.

How It Started

It started with three wild crawfish. My four-year-old son came home from a creek walk with his mom and grandmother, hands full and eyes wide, determined to keep them alive. One trip to the pet store later, we had our first aquarium. Those crawfish were endlessly fascinating — rowdy tankmates who rearranged the decor daily and kept us on our toes — but eventually we released them back to the creek where they belonged.

Over the next year and a half we upgraded from that first tank to a 29-gallon, and then to where we are now: a Waterbox FLED60 with a Fluval 407 running six stunning discus. Our love for this fish grew fast — we're already planning a 250–300 gallon main display and setting up a breeding operation. As for the name? One day we were talking about how much we love discus and my son, now six years old, just said it. Kiss My Discus. It stuck immediately, and honestly, we couldn't have come up with anything better.

Inside the Fish Room

Our facility runs multiple dedicated breeding and grow-out tanks, all maintained with RO water, consistent temperatures between 82–86°F, and daily water changes. Every fish is conditioned on our KMD Beef Heart Mix before it ships. We don't rush the process.
